Functional Medicine & Acupuncture
Sarah Thompson L.Ac., CFMP, Doula
Sarah founded Sacred Vessel Acupuncture in 2012, after years of working alongside medical doctors. Sarah has dedicated her practice to helping patients with complicated conditions, and those seeking to improve their health. One of her great passions, and missions to educate women throughout pregnancy on the vital role nutrition plays in the outcomes of labor. She is the author of the book, Functional Maternity - Using Functional Medicine and Nutrition to Improve Pregnancy and Childbirth Outcomes.
You can also visit our sister website www.functionalmaternity.com.
Sarah brings over 20 years of experience working directly with medical doctors in the fields of Pain Management and Obstetrics and Gynecology, and advanced studies in both Acupuncture and Functional Medicine.
When she is not running her clinic and treating patients locally and around the world, she is at home with her husband of 15 years and two daughters on their mini farm where they raise chickens and miniature Hereford cattle.
Lexi is the office manager and our nutrition intern.
Lexi will be assisting with our nutritional needs at the office while she takes some time to be with her family before stepping into her next schooling journey.
She's a Fort Collins (actually, Laporte) native, and when she's not studying or working here at Sacred Vessel, she can be found spending time with her family, hiking, reading, sketching, or playing in the dirt pretending to know how to garden.
Bou is Lexi's seizure alert dog...and a favorite at the office. You'll find her lounging on her dog bed at the front desk, and occasionally cruising around the office.
She loves belly rubs, head scratches, and being at work (away from the family's new puppy - even adoptive mamas need a break sometimes).
Originally from the East Coast, Ariel moved to Colorado to begin studying Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine at Southwest Acupuncture College.
After graduating this coming August, Ariel hopes to specialize in women’s healthcare, using her education and skill set to provide care to women in all phases of life. She also plans to pursue additional certification in fertility and obstetrics from the Acupuncture and TCM Board of Reproductive Medicine, aspiring to become a ABORM fellow.
When she is not in class or clinic, Ariel can be found spending time with her partner and beloved friends, rock climbing or bird watching.
